H4H Week 4 – Discussion Guide

Connect

Main Idea: Are you prepared to do what God has called you to do?

Introduction: This weekend we had our final H4H weekend with our offering weekend. We gave for people we haven’t yet met and a generation that is yet to be born.

Discussion Starter: Take a few moments and reflect on what you have seen God do in your life, the lives of those around you during H4H, and what you are praying He will continue to do beyond H4H. Share your thoughts with one another.

Primary Scriptures: 2 Corinthians 9:1-15

Discussion Questions:

  1. How does giving generously glorify God? What evidence do you have of God’s favor in your life because of your generous gifts?
  2. Read 2 Corinthians 9: 7-8. The scripture tells us that God doesn’t want us to give reluctantly or out of pressure, but He wants us to give with a cheerful heart and then He will provide all that we need with plenty left over to share with others. Can you think of a time when you gave cheerfully and had plenty left over to share with others?
  3. Finish reading 2 Corinthians 9: 9-15. Spend time in prayer with one another. Ask God to prepare our hearts to continue giving generously throughout the year.

Suggestion: Consider breaking the group into twos or threes for this section.

In 2 Corinthians 9, we read how believers in one community sent aid to those in another community. We are designed for community. We are not meant to do this life alone. Is there an area in your life that has been preventing you from giving or from increasing your giving? Spend time in prayer with one another asking the Lord to provide clarity and to increase our belief that His promises are true. The Lord will provide.
