All We Do Is WIN Week 1-Discussion Guide

Connect:

Main Idea: We love God.

Introduction: This weekend, Pastor Zac talked about the vision and values of Faith Promise. The vision of Faith Promise is: We exist to win the world by equipping Christ-followers to win their world starting with 1% of the state of Tennessee. We love God, love people, discover purpose, and win our world. Loving God is the first step toward building a Kingdom culture.

Discussion Starter: Here at Faith Promise, our values start with loving God. What does this mean to you? How do you see this implemented in your group’s lives? How about in your home?

Grow:

Primary Scripture: John 3:16-17, John 10:10, Romans 8:31-32, Romans 8:38-39, Matthew 27:46, 1 John 4:9-10, Romans 10:9, Acts 2:37-38, Colossians 3:17, and Matthew 22:37-40.

Discussion Questions:

  1. God’s Love- We know from verses like John 3:16-17, John 10:10, and 1 John 4:9 that God sent His Son for what reason? Slow down and really process this.  How does this knowledge affect your day-to-day living?

  2. God’s Sacrifice- Read Matthew 27:46 and Romans 8:31-32 . What was the cost? How does this make you feel?

  3. Our Response & Our Confidence- Read Romans 10:9, Acts 2:37-38, and Romans 8:38-39. From the verses in Romans 10 and Acts 2, what do we learn that we need to do in response to God’s sacrifice? From the verses in Romans 8, what do we see about God’s love?

  4. Loving God First- From reading Colossians 3:17 and Matthew 22:37-40, what habits/commandments do we learn we should follow? What other actions can we take to demonstrate our love for God?

Suggestion: Break into groups of 2 or 3 for this section.

Think about how you personally demonstrate your love for God in your family, your children, spouse, siblings, and friends. How about at work or school?  You can find several more Bible verses/stories surrounding each topic we discussed in the question section. Pick one that you would like to focus on for the week: how God loves us, His sacrifice, our response/confidence, and/or demonstration of our love for God. Each day spend at least 5 minutes reading and praying about your topic. Ask God to help you respond in a way pleasing to Him and open your heart and mind to what you are reading. Also, take a minute to pray for your fellow group members as they work towards deepening their love for God.
