You Won’t If You Don’t!
Happy New Year Faith Promise Family,
The holidays and the Arctic blast are now behind us, and we are marching into 2014 with great anticipation. This past weekend, even with schools not yet back in session, God brought 5,000 worshipers to all of our campuses. Praise His Holy Name! Our church has so much to look forward to in this new year and I have never been more excited!
On January 4 we began our new four-week sermon series, You Won’t If You Don’t. As many of you know, our theme verse for the year is found in Genesis 26:12 which says, “Now Isaac sowed in that land and reaped in the same year a hundredfold. And the Lord blessed him.” God loves to bless His children and has promised to do so many times throughout Scripture. However, in order to receive His blessings we must do our part! We must seek Him with an open and pure heart and make sure to sow heavenly, not worldly seeds. Join us at one of our locations each week this month as we learn how to grow closer to our Lord by planting the seeds of the Spirit! With what kind of harvest will He bless you and your family?
By now I hope you have picked up a copy of our 21-Day Devotional booklet on prayer and fasting. One of our 2014 church prayer goals is to read through the One Year® Bible Plan together as a congregation, and it is not too late to join us! You may still get a copy at your campus’ information desk or download it here. What a joy it is for me to know that thousands of us are reading the same passages together each day!
Another of our prayer goals is to complete a corporate 21-day fast, which begins on January 13 and concludes on February 2. In your devotional booklet you will find more information on suggested types of fasts and daily devotional thoughts I have written to help you along the way. Whatever fasting method the Lord leads you to choose, please remember that the important thing is to take that time to focus on God in prayer. Ask Him to reveal to you areas in which you need to grow both spiritually and personally. A great way to start is to complete a personal growth plan which is also found in the booklet. To learn more, you may purchase a copy of my book, The Plan of Your Life, at your campus’ fpResources or on my website.
I can’t wait to see how God will move throughout this series and in the coming year. I truly believe that the best is yet to come!!!
Love you and looking forward to worshiping with you this weekend!
