About Me

I moved to the Knoxville area in 2013 from Washington State to be with my daughter and her family. After losing several family members to cancer, including my parents and husband, it was time for a change and to be close to my 4 grandchildren (2 girls and 2 boys). Moving to Knoxville meant that I left behind my son and his then new bride. Now, I'm missing their two girls! It just means I get to go back and visit them as often as I can!

When I would visit Knoxville, I would always attend Faith Promise with my family. There was no question where I was going to attend church once I moved here.

After my husband's death in 2005, I took over the operation of his business, a produce brokerage. Prior to that I had been a CPA, working in private accounting, industry and government. In the beginning of 2016 I entered into semi-retirement. I had been praying and asking God what this next season would look like. I felt God telling me to trust Him, that he had something good planned. I had been volunteering in the Finance office when I was asked if I would take a temporary position, filling in for someone on medical leave. That led to my position as HR Administrator. And now I have come out of retirement to accept the position of Controller.  I am so honored to work with such a great team of people, furthering the vision and mission of saving souls in East Tennessee.

I love to travel, whether to visit family or exploring and trying new things. My favorite places to go are Moloka’i, Hawaii and the San Juan Islands in Washington State. Anything that involves being on or in the water – swimming, boating or scuba diving. In 2010 I got my open water scuba diving certification and my advanced open water in 2014. Now I try to mix my travels with scuba diving. When home I enjoy working in the yard, quilting, knitting and spending time with family and my dear sisters in my small groups. I look forward to what God has planned for this next stage in life. He is faithful and "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” Phil 4:13.
