Spiritual Fertilizer

This is the time of year when I get the itch to start planting.  I don’t have much of a green thumb.  But I love flowers around my house and a few vegetables in the garden.  The idea of new growth is exciting to me.  And though I’m no expert, there are a few things I’ve learned about keeping a garden.  And good fertilizer is an important component.

Now, clearly there are other things that are important to address.  Like cultivating good soil, knowing what to plant and when to plant it.  But for the sake of this conversation, we’re just focusing on fertilizer.

I love the idea of fertilizer because it’s focus is on health.  Adding the right nutrients that generate more fruit… more blooms… greener leaves… deeper roots… more, more, more.

As Christ-followers, we all have a desire to grow.  I don’t encounter many people at Faith Promise that lack a desire to grow.  But knowing HOW to grow is typically the question.  Let me tell one great way to grow.  A guaranteed fertilizer that will produce more knowledge, deeper roots and more spiritual fruit.  Want to know what it is?

Serving

That’s right.  Serving.

Serving in the local church gives you the opportunity to take part in a work God is doing that is much bigger than you.  We are all wired to be a part of something bigger than ourselves.  Serving taps into that work.  And when you tap into God’s work, open to how the Spirit guides, you experience growth.

We want more for you, than we want from you.  So c’mon.  Come serve with us.
