Series:  “To Do List”

Focus:  What To Do Before You Die

Family Discussion:

Ever heard of a Bucket List?  It is basically a collection of accomplishments that you hope to achieve before “kicking the bucket” or dying, and we all have one.  We all know that our life on earth is temporary, and before it ends there are always a few things that we want to experience before we no longer have the option.  It could be sky diving, going to a pro football game, meeting a celebrity, etc. Whatever else is on your bucket list, there is one thing that Jesus specifically told us to wrap our lives around.

“Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’”   Matthew 28:18-20

Go.  It’s a simple word, but the instruction that comes with it is heavy.  At the top of the to do list Jesus left us is a mandate to tell the world about Him and that they can experience everlasting life through Him!  Truth be told, this is the one thing that you can’t do when you get to Heaven…so what are you waiting for?

Discussion Questions:

–          What items are on your family’s “Bucket List”?

–          Why are these things important to you?

–          How can you, as a family, respond to Jesus’ command to “go” and “tell the world”?

As a family, write out a “Bucket List” of people (family, friends, etc) that you want to share Jesus with, and bring them to Faith Promise this weekend.  If they are in 6th-12th grade make sure to get them to the fpStudents service next Wednesday for a very special salvation message!
