Series: “Make War”
Focus: Esther – Identifying Your Battle Plan
Family Discussion:
Esther’s story in the Old Testament gives us a very clear picture of how God has given us a specific battle plan for our life. Esther was born a Jew in the country of Persia around 14 BC and God used her passion, personality and position to save the entire Jewish nation from elimination! As we learned last week, God has designed each of for a specific purpose. Each of us have a role to play in His battle plan for humanity.
I Corinthians 12:12-15 “Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many.”
For Esther to step into the role God created for her, she had to recognize her personality (humble) her position (new queen) and her passion (her Jewish heritage). Each part of her purpose was key to seeing God’s plan for her life. How about you?
Discussion Questions:
– What steps have you taken to help each member of your family discover your God-given purpose?
– What passions has God placed in your life to fulfill His plan?
– How do your different personalities help you fulfill God’s plan?
– What positions are you in that you can use to fulfill God’s plan?
Application:
One of the values of the Faith Promise Family Ministry is “Imagine The End.” This series is all about recognizing God’s plan in our lives, and God’s plan is not open-ended…there is a goal in mind! This week work as a team to become, as Pastor Chris says, “dream managers” for each other. Look for ways to help each member of your family identify the position, personality and passion that God has given them to use for His purpose.
