Week 3: I Believe In God But… I Act Ashamed Of Him
Last week we talked about something that if we all did as families we could change the world starting in east Tennessee! Today we talked about the mindset of, “I believe in God BUT… I act Ashamed of Him. Most of the students and even you parents would whole heartedly fight saying that you are “ashamed of God!” But does your words, actions, and choices reflect that you are not ashamed of God. Tonight we talked about Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and how they were unashamed. Thinking about your family, if people were to be asked if you or your students are believers what would they say? Do your students see you live a life that is unashamed when it comes to God? Paul says in Romans 1:16, I am not ashamed of the gospel (or Jesus) for it is what brings hope and power to all those who believe! Is your family’s life brining hope and power to those around you?
Conversation starters with your students-
- What is something you are ashamed of?
- What is something you are unashamed of?
- What could we as a family do to live unashamed lives for God?
- Are you willing to lose friends and get weird looks for God?
