Parent Connection – fpKids

Preschool  (2 yrs to PreK)
This week is “Operation: No More Tears”.  And we are teaching your Preschooler that…

God has a Plan for me!

A key question you can ask your child is, “Who Loves You?”  God loves me!  In fact, God loves us so much that He has a plan for our lives.  Just as He had a plan for Jesus’ life.

And God’s Plan is always best.  In the aftermath of Jesus’ death on the cross, it didn’t make sense to His friends.  Why did Jesus have to die?  It just didn’t make sense.  Trust enters the picture again when followers of Jesus are left to figure out where they stand with God and His Rescue Plan.

Create a Rhythm and tap into the power of quality moments.  During bath time, driving in the car or tucking them into bed, look for ways to recognize how your child trusts you to do what’s best for them.  Tell them how we can also trust God to do what’s best for us too.  Who Loves You?  God loves me!

Elementary  (K-5th grade)
This week in “Operation: No More Tears”, we will learn that…

God’s Plan is always Best!

One of the biggest challenges we face is trusting God.  Trusting that His plan is better than our own.  The disciples were smack in the middle of that battle after Christ was crucified on the cross.  “How was God going to rescue us when the Rescuer was dead?!?”  A great question.  Yet in the 3 days that passed after Jesus’ death, the disciples learned that though God’s Plan look different from their plan… God’s Plan is always Best!!

Make It Personal and allow your kids to see how you strive to grow.  Read Matthew 27, Mark 15, Luke 23 & John 19.  In each account remember how followers of Jesus truly believed that He was the King that would sit upon the throne of Jerusalem.  Put yourself there for a moment and consider how disillusioning this was in that moment.  Now, consider where you are today.  Are their outcomes in your life that just don’t make sense?  That just don’t measure up?  How can you surrender these to God in trust that His Plan is always best?
