God Loves Me

We continue to help your child know that God Is Always With Them!  Not only was God with Moses when he was a baby but He continued to be with him throughout his life.  There were many times that God and Moses hung out.  One time, God told Moses that he would be the one to get Pharaoh to let the Israelites go (Exodus 3:11).  That sounds like a big job, right?  Probably pretty dangerous?

When Moses questioned how he would do it, what he would say and how it would end up, God had only one thing to say.  He said ”I will surely be with you” (Exodus 3:12).  As your child encounters new challenges, help them remember Moses.  Fight for the Heart and remind them that just as God was always with Moses, He will always be with them.

Elementary (K-3rd Grade)

Contentment – choosing to be happy with what you’ve got

Change is hard for some people.  Especially when what we have is really good!  As the return to school approaches, or for some has already happened, there may be a tendency to compare new classrooms, teachers and friends to the old ones.  It can be easy for complaining to set in as your student wants what they had last year.

Take the time to Create A Rhythm with your student that does not include complaining!  Remind them of our memory verse this month (Philippians 4:11-12) and encourage them to find the positive about their current circumstances.  Help them see that God has their steps ordered and where they are is where they are supposed to be.  Encourage them not to miss an opportunity that He has for them because they are looking at last year!

Club 45 (4-5th grade)

Hot, Bold, Confident

We use Jonah this week to give us another example of being bold for God.  We want your student to know that God gives them the boldness they need to follow Jesus, no matter where they are.

Jonah had pretty specific instructions from God but he didn’t like what God was telling him, so he decided no to obey.  Remember how that ended up? (Jonah 1-4)

Fight for the Heart  this week and talk to your student about the consequences of being stubborn.  Encourage them to not only listen to the Holy Spirit, but to also recognize the wisdom of the authorities in his life.  Help them not miss God because of their own stubbornness.  Make sure you are setting a good example!
