Parent Connection – fpKids
Preschool (2 yrs to PreK)
A foundational truth we want all our preschoolers to know is… God Made Me
Through the month of May, we will explore the Creation story. Here are the key highlights you’ll want to emphasize each week:
Basic Truth: God Made Me
Key Question: Who made everything?
Bottom Line: God Made Everything
Memory Verse: “God created the heavens and the earth” Genesis 1:1 NIV
This week’s Bible focus is on Genesis 1:20-25 where God created the animals. What a great opportunity to load up the kids, make a trip to the zoo and see some of the amazing animals God took the time to create. God made everything for His Glory and His Purpose.
So as you look at your child this week and wonder if they’re really a monkey… remember they’re an amazing creation for His glory and His purpose.
**Grab your Small Talk this week for a Cuddle Time activity that will emphasize all that you’ve taught your child.**
Elementary (K – 5th grade)
Forgiveness is deciding that someone who has wronged you doesn’t have to pay.
This week we are diving into Matthew 5:1-2, 23-24 to explore what Jesus has to say about forgiveness. We want kids to understand…
Don’t wait to start making things right with others.
Memory Verse: “Forgive the things you are holding against one another. Forgive, just as the Lord forgave you.” Colossians 3:13, NIrV
We want kids to learn to Go First! To be the first to apologize. The first to seek forgiveness. Or the first to offer it. To learn to take action quickly and not allow time to pass before seeking restoration. Holding a grudge against our friends only serves to hurt our own heart.
Parents this is a great example that we can live out as a demonstration for our kids to witness. How easy it is to live our lives waiting on other people to make the first move. When we hold all the power to Go First and forgive. How can you demonstrate this for your kids this weekend?
