Recently I found myself in the enviable position of time on my hands and no children to care for, so I chose to fill this free time with a trip to the movies. I can’t come close to adequately explaining what a huge deal it is to be able to see a movie … in a theater … just because I want to. As a parent of two young children, my life is limited, so I chose to see Limitless.

The movie raises a great question. What would you do with your newfound capacity if, by taking a pill, you could eliminate mental obstacles that had previously held you back and identify new possibilities previously unseen? Too often I choose not to pursue a dream because I can’t see how it can possibly be achieved. Ultimately, I choose to limit my life.

There are a multitude of things that limit my life. Disobedience is a big one. I like it my way, even if it isn’t the best way. Fear is another. What will people think of me? What if I fail? And I don’t think I’m the only one with these issues; otherwise, I’d expect to see more people living their life like superheros. So where do we get this pill?

It was for freedom that Christ set us free. Every day God wants us to experience freedom – a life without limits – and to fill ourselves with Him. With freedom comes amazing perks like love, joy, and peace. Best of all, the pill is free for the taking. We must simply choose to forget about us and focus on Him. And sooner or later, you don’t even have to think about taking this pill. It becomes who you are. In the meantime, I suggest cultivating this new habit with others, who can ensure you take the optimum dosage. So go ahead and start living life without limits the way you were designed.
