Imperfect Parents

Have you ever felt as a parent that you didn’t have all the answers?  Have you ever felt like, compared to everyone else you were less than?  I talk to a lot of parents in my job that feel this way.  Along with them, I too feel this way a lot of the time.  Our kids did not come with an instruction manual.  Man that would have been a good idea.  The reality is that they didn’t and so we as parents are left to much prayer and acting on the limited knowledge that we have.

Over the next few months, we as a middle school ministry are going to partner with parents to grow in our parenting skills and ability.  We are asking all the parents of middle schoolers who are not perfect, who don’t have it all together, to connect with us in a unique parenting group that will meet once a month on Wednesday nights during our student service.  We will be studying the book, “Candid Confessions of an Imperfect Parent”.  It’s a transparent look at a real life parent of five girls to discover the mistakes made, and lessons learned.  You can purchase the book prior to coming, or get a copy there.  You don’t have to read anything prior to coming.

Our first meeting starts this Wednesday night, October 17th from 7:45-8:30pm.  We will also meet on November 14th, and December 12th.  I hope that you will have time to be a part of this amazing experience as we commit to grow together as parents in leading the next generation to follow Christ.
