Series: “Identity”

Focus: A relationship with God gives us purpose as well as puts us in a position of power!

Family Discussion:

“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works,
which God prepared in advance for us to do.!”

Ephesians 2:10

1. Our identity as Christ-followers is defined by God.  He is the Creator, and we are the created.  Why is it important to clearly understand this aspect of our identity?

2. What happens if we get the roles reversed and see ourselves not as the “workmanship” but as the one in charge?

3. What roles does the Holy Spirit play in our identity?  What difference does it make?

4. Identity is something that might not be obvious to every person we meet, but there are usually ways to identify someone based on what we see.  What are some ways that you can make your identity as a Christ follower seen on the outside and not just the inside?

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!”

2 Corinthians 5:17

Wrap Up: Understanding our identity only starts the process of fulfilling our purpose.  In order to reach our full potential we must always stay close to Christ and grow in a community, like your Life Group and your family, so that we keep a clear view of who we are and who’s we are.
