This weekend, our puppet team will present the story of Moses speaking to Pharaoh [Exodus 5:1-6:8]
The key question our small group leaders will ask is: “Who is always with you?” The answer is that “God is always with me.”
God asked Moses to do an incredibly hard thing. He wanted Moses to go before the mean king Pharaoh and tell him to let his people go. Moses was frightened by this., but Moses knew God loved him and was always with him.
You can prepare your preschool for this weekend’s story by reviewing our monthly scripture verse:
“God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
After the weekend, you can help reinforce the story of Moses and Pharaoh by reenacting the story at home. Open a children’s bible to Exodus 5:1-6:8. After you have read through this, gather these items:
- a toy crown [or paper one]
- a brown towel or piece of fabric to use as a head covering
- cardboard bricks or boxes
Choose someone to wear the crown and be Pharaoh. Choose someone else to wear the head covering and be Moses. Everyone else can be God’s people. Encourage your family to act out this story. Have fun with it, switch characters, and repeat.
End your play time by saying this verse in unison:
“God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
