Family Vacation: Launching Pad or Prison?

Launching Pad or Prison?

1. Pastor Chris stated the family often times is either a launching pad or a chain that binds us. When have you had a vision to go somewhere or reach a destination with your spouse, with your children, with your ministry, or with your relationship with God, only to stop somewhere along the way and move no further?

2. Terah struggled and never moved past the death of his son, Haran. Pastor Chris said we will struggle when we live in a place named after our pain. Are there issues in you life and your past that you have been unable to move past?

3. We are to model being over-comers for our family. If we are bound in the chains of our failures, our children likely will follow this path as well. Who have you witnessed that did not “settle” in a given place in life because of events or circumstances, unlike Terah?

4. Relational wounds can result in one of three scenarios if we do not overcome them. (1) These wounds will keep us from our potential. (2) These wounds will pollute every relationship we have. (3) These wounds will destroy our walk with God. What examples of these three results have you experienced?

5. In what ways have you previously or are currently fighting someone who can help you with your wounds? In what ways have you done the same with God?
