Family Life: Post -It Note Prayers

(This post was written by Chuck Carringer, Pastor of Family Ministries)

For the past couple of weeks people who attend the various campuses of Faith Promise Church have been writing the names of family and friends on post-it notes who they are praying will receive Christ. These post-it notes have been stuck on the walls of our campus auditoriums. When I go into the auditorium and see thousands of names posted on the wall it is a visible reminder of the significance of each name and that our God is able.

One of the FPC family values is Imagine The End. This value highlights the fact that many things have some kind of importance but each person’s relationship with Jesus is most important. That is what the authors of the post-it note prayers are communicating. Each name represents someone’s family or friend who hasn’t yet accepted Christ. What about our families? Who have we been praying for to receive Jesus? Perhaps you have been praying for the salvation of someone for years, even decades. It’s easy to get discouraged, to quit inviting family members to church, to stop having meaningful conversations about a real relationship with Jesus. Don’t forget the message of Ephesians 3:20, “Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us.”

God really is more than able. Let’s press on with determination. Continue to invite and pray for our family and friends who need Jesus.
