How to Use Group Finder

Make sure to select your campus if you want to find a group connected to where you regularly attend. The “Keyword Search” is a great tool for finding a group located near you or a similar stage of life.

Join a Group

At Faith Promise, we help people grow in groups. Whatever stage of life you are in, a community is waiting for you. In a group, you’ll connect relationally, protect each other in prayer, and grow together by taking steps with Jesus.

We have groups for married couples, men, women, and young adults. There is a group for you! Group semester launch happens in February and August, but you can join a group anytime. The best way to find a group is Group Finder. If you have trouble finding a group or have any questions email us at [email protected]. We are here to help you get connected!

What about childcare?

Most groups do not provide supervised childcare. However, you can search for kid-friendly groups on Group Finder. These groups cater to specific age ranges of kids to help parents who are in a similar stage of life. You can find kid-friendly groups on Group Finder. Care and support groups that meet on Monday nights do provide childcare for group attendees. Another option is joining a kid-friendly group.

Can I start my own group?

If you have never led a group before, we recommend that you join a group for a semester. If you feel called to lead a group, you will first need to complete Next Steps and apply to be a group leader. Click here for more information.

How do I join a group?

Twice a year, the campuses have a live Semester Launch where you can join a group. You can attend Next Steps and learn more about groups, or you can go to Group Finder and search for one online. If you need more help joining a group, email [email protected].

How many people are in a group?

Most groups have 6 to 14 people but can vary in size. Groups are generally gender-specific or include couples. Group Finder will include the specifics about each group.

What happens at group?

There are a variety of groups. From hiking and golf groups to Bible studies or outreach groups, all our groups are committed to doing 3 things: connect, protect, and grow. Connect means that groups are about building relationships and community. Protect means that groups pray together. Grow means that people in the group are taking steps with Jesus.

Where does group happen?

Leaders choose where their group meets. Groups meet in homes, coffee shops, or online. Most groups meet near a Faith Promise campus. You can search for the location on Group Finder.

How long do groups meet together?

Some groups are designed around particular studies so they might last 6 to 8 weeks. Some groups meet and stay together for longer periods of time. A normal life cycle for a group is 18 months.

When do groups meet?

Groups typically meet 2-3 times a month for 1.5 to 2 hours. New groups typically start in February and August, but many groups are open to join at any time. Most groups take breaks during the holidays and summer.

What is a group?

fpGroups are small groups of people building community and taking steps with Jesus. Groups grow together by socializing, learning, and praying together.

Leadership Development Groups

Faith Promise has several pathways for people to grow as leaders in a cultivated format. If you are leading the Winning Team, you are eligible to join.

Marriage Prep Groups

Marriage Prep groups meet in the fall and spring and are mentor lead experiences. The groups use Prepare Enrich materials and Faith Promise’s Marriage Prep Handbook. The groups last six weeks. If you are interested in joining a group, please email:

Online Groups

Online groups are available for people who attend Faith Promise online and people who attend Faith Promise campuses. Most groups meet on Zoom, Google Meet, or on Facebook.

Married & Single Groups

Health & Recreation Groups

Groups aren’t always a Bible study in a living room. Health and recreation groups build community and grow spiritually around sports and activities. Groups include game nights, bowling, hiking, golf, crafting, and many more. If you don’t find a group around your common interest, why not consider starting one?

Freedom Groups

Freedom is a group study designed to help Christ-followers find victory in Christ and connect with the Holy Spirit. Freedom is a 12-week curriculum that culminates in a two-day Freedom Weekend experience. Freedom groups are normally gender specific because of some sensitive weeks.

Women’s Groups

Looking to grow as a woman of God? Our women’s groups are a great place to do this through a variety of Bible studies, crafting, getting coffee together, and more. Our women’s groups will help you grow in your knowledge of the Word of God and as a wife, mother, sister, or friend.

Men’s Groups

Looking to grow as a man of God? Men’s groups are a great place to grow as a man of God.

Care & Support Groups

There are seasons of life that are more difficult than others. Care and support groups are designed to help people with divorce, anger management, grief, and substance use. Most Care and support groups meet at the Pellissippi Campus during fpCelebrate on Monday nights. Childcare is available for these groups.

Outreach Groups

Outreach groups provide a unique opportunity for people to win their world by serving locally. There are groups oriented around serving local non-profits, prayer walks, or neighborhoods. Outreach groups typically meet once a month.

Young Adult Groups

Young adult groups are geared around two important stages of life: college-aged groups (18-25) and young professionals (25-30). Most groups are gender specific. Check out the group description on Group Finder for more details about specific young adult groups.

Married Groups

Married groups are designed to foster community with other married couples. Most groups include social time and prayer, and typically involve a study to help the members to grow spiritually.

Kid-Friendly Groups

A Kid-Friendly group is a group that does not offer supervised childcare but is geared toward specific age ranges of children. This type of group will allow you to find a group with kids and families in the same stage of life.
