A Storied Christmas Begins This Weekend

A Storied Christmas3Crop

Merry Christmas Faith Promise Family!

As the familiar song goes, the most wonderful time of the year is here! I love the Christmas season, and I am so excited about all that is happening at FPC this month as we celebrate the One whose birth changed the world forever! On December 6-7, we will begin our unique new series, A Storied Christmas. Sadly, with each passing Christmas season, the true reason for our celebration seems to get lost more and more among the things of the world. During this series, we will hear the tales of some of our favorite biblical Christmas characters and see how stories of our own FPC family members meet The Story – The Greatest Story! Join us during the next three weekends at regular service times for an unforgettable Christmas experience you won’t want to miss!

I urge everyone to please continue praying and inviting your lost and unchurched friends and family during this time of year when people are more open to church attendance and the Gospel. We praise God for the 620 souls who have already been baptized during 2014! If we are faithful in inviting and bringing others, how many more will come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior before the year ends? It is also our desire that our children learn the true meaning of Christmas from an early age. Our fpKids will spend the month of December focusing on who Jesus is, what He did for us, and learning to see the needs of those around us. Encourage your children to invite others to come with them each weekend as well. Handouts are still available in the lobby at all of our locations and you can also help us get the word out by sharing on social media. Let’s pray that all of our Worship Centers will be filled to overflowing and see what our Mighty God will do!

Each campus will have regular service times on the weekends of December 27-28 and January 3 & 4. If you are in town during the holidays, please be faithful in your attendance, and remember our online services if you are traveling. Also, please note that the church offices will be closed December 24 through January 2 and will reopen at 8:00 am on January 5.

Looking ahead, I am thrilled about the way we will begin the new year together! Our theme for 2015 will be, Planted in the House of the Lord, which is taken from Psalm 92:13-14: “Planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the courts of our God. They will still yield fruit in old age; they shall be full of sap and very green.”

On January 1, we will get a fresh start on our Bible Reading Plan, and on January 5 we will begin a 21-Day Fast together. Booklets, including the Bible Reading Plan, Personal Growth Plan, Prayer Goals, 21-Day Devotional readings, fasting tips, and much more will be handed out beginning the weekend of December 20-21. It is my heart’s desire that during the coming year we see more and more people connect to Faith Promise and plant deep and lasting roots here. I believe it will be our greatest year of personal spiritual growth and a year that we flourish in His House!

Thank you once again for the great privilege of being your Pastor. Michele and I love you and pray God’s richest blessings on you all. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
