Meet the Staff
Melanie Goodman Assistant to the Middle School Pastor
We started attending Faith Promise Church in 2007, and I joined the awesome Faith Promise Family Ministry Staff in February 2009. I am very blessed to be given the opportunity to serve God doing the very thing God has equipped me for! I am the assistant to the Middle School Pastor and love working with the student ministry staff and students. I have an overwhelming desire to help teenage students experience a personal relationship with God and help equip them with the tools they need to make good choices that will impact their lives forever.
I?ve been happily married to my husband Jonathan Goodman since January 18, 1992. I?m the luckiest lady alive to be married to the love of my life and best friend!! Along with Jonathan came a special blessing, my step-son Justin who I love very much. Together Jonathan and I have two children, Zeke and Darah. We love spending time together as a family. We camp, ride bikes, run, and love anything that involves a beach. We have fun doing anything as long as were together.
I was extremely blessed for the privilege and support of my husband to be able to stay home to raise my children for 15 years. During that time I worked part time as a children?s ministry director at a previous church and also as a substitute teacher. I spent numerous hours volunteering and loving every minute I spent being with Zeke and Darah. I am humbled that God would loan such precious children to me so I could be their mom!
Hobbies? I love to read anything that helps me to grow spiritually, and my guilty pleasure: Karen Kingsbury novels. I love to run! Yes I said it, I love to run! When I?ve had a stressful day, running always sets me at ease. I use this time to meditate on all God has for me ? except for the times I?m begging God to get me through the next mile!
Favorite bible verse? Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. Psalm 139: 23-24
