As Christians, we’re called to share the faith that transforms us. It’s about telling our stories and sharing about the incredible changes God has made in us. When we connect with someone new, we’re offering them a glimpse of hope and a chance to see God’s love through our stories. Sharing our faith is our mission to bring light to the dark corners of the world. Let’s embrace this calling, win our world, and make meaningful connections that could change lives forever.

CONNECT WITH PEOPLE LIKE YOU

Start by introducing yourself, finding common ground in the simple things. Notice families with kids around your age, or comment on similar products, clothes, or parenting styles you see. This isn’t just small talk; it’s the first step towards building genuine connections. By anchoring the conversation around shared experiences or interests, you’re laying the foundation for a meaningful relationship.

SPEND TIME GETTING TO KNOW THEM

Before inviting someone to church or sharing your faith, take time to genuinely know them. Building a real connection matters. Listen to their stories, understand their joys and challenges, and find common ground. This foundation of trust and understanding is key. It shows you care about them as individuals, not just as potential churchgoers. By investing in authentic relationships first, your invitation to explore faith together becomes a natural, meaningful extension of your newfound friendship.

ARE THEY CONNECTED TO A CHURCH?

Consider the personal and societal challenges they encounter daily. Do they believe solutions exist? Building a relational bridge before sharing your faith is crucial. It’s about establishing trust, understanding, and genuine care first. By connecting on a personal level, you lay a foundation of respect and empathy, making your faith-sharing more receptive and impactful. Show interest in their life, listen to their stories, and find common ground. This approach not only enriches the relationship but also opens hearts to the message of faith with warmth and authenticity. Let’s prioritize meaningful connections as the heart of sharing our faith.

SPEND TIME PRAYING WITH THEM

Praying with someone is a profound expression of care and concern. It’s an action that says, “I’m here with you, and together, we’re seeking guidance and support.” Remember to pray out loud, side by side, making this spiritual journey a shared experience. Express your gratitude for the power of prayer and the comfort it brings. This act of unity and faith not only strengthens bonds but also vividly demonstrates your genuine commitment to their well-being.

ARE THEY A FOLLOWER OF JESUS?

Ask, “Do you have a relationship with Jesus that enables you to pray for things?” If they say yes, respond by saying you love hearing other people’s stories; can you hear theirs? If they say no, or their answer to the above question is vague/unclear if they are saved, move to step 4.

Presenting the Gospel is as simple as A, B, C.

A—Admit that we have sinned. The Bible tells us that we have all sinned and have fallen short of God’s Glory. (Romans 3:23)

B—Believe in Jesus and that God raised Him. God hated that sin separated us from Him. So He sent Jesus to live a perfect life and pay the penalty for our sins. (John 3:16) And after laying His life down, He rose from the grave!

C—Confess that Jesus is Lord and commit your life to following Him. He is waiting with open arms, when we admit in what we’ve done, recognize our separation and believe in who Jesus is. We can choose to follow Jesus for the rest of our lives!  (Romans 10:9)

DO THEY WANT TO CHOOSE JESUS?

The urgency to guide someone towards choosing to follow Jesus is paramount. We’re reminded in Scripture that “we have been given the ministry of reconciliation” (2 Corinthians 5:18), emphasizing our role in bridging the gap between God and people. This is a call to action, fueled by love and the desire for everyone to experience the profound love from God that we cherish. Let’s share this love actively, reminding them of our genuine care and the life-changing decision before them.

INVITE THEM TO JOIN YOU AT FAITH PROMISE!

After you’ve prayed, share your desire to have you join them for a weekend service at Faith Promise! What better way is there to celebrate life change than attending a weekend with them? Also, encourage them to go public with their decision by committing to baptism.
